Fumes seduce

those in the dark, 

of revved up travelers

barely out of park 

 

Vultures circle

to gas the lean,

by keystrokes

and scrolling screen

 

There’s a setup,

focus, then fire,

with savage damage

of bitter ire

 

It’s a bully’s tactic,

deflecting blame,

shaming others

for the sake of fame

 

A hint of peril

is fuel for the dim,

a full-service fill-up

of septic gin

 

We’re pushed and pulled

like pumps on a corner,

from Northern Maine

to Southern California

 

Red flames in a fever,

blue boiling at the base

of peddled arson

that feeds disgrace
